Following the 4-2 victory by Ceres-Negros FC last Wednesday at the Panaad Park and Stadium in the first leg of their 2018 AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal semifinal against Yangon United FC of Myanmar, Ceres coach Risto Vidaković expressed concerns over the temperature for the return leg, set to take place next week, May 16, at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, where temperatures are expected to reach 36°C.
“The condition is very disadvantageous for us,” he said.
In their win, Ceres midfielder Bienvenido Marañón struck first, scoring in the 29th minute, which was shortly followed by a goal from striker Patrick Reichelt, putting the Negrense side up 2-0.
Marañón earned a brace just before halftime, giving the home side a 3-0 advantage.
Yangon forward Sekou Sylla managed to pull one back in the 55th minute; however, defender Súper made it 4-1 for Ceres in the 63rd minute.
