Police involved in neutralizing Villamonte robber recognized

Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) yesterday awarded the police officers involved in neutralizing a wanted robber last week in Barangay Villamonte.

According to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), PRO-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, awarded Police Station 4 (PS4) commander, Police Chief Inspector Ritchie Gohee; Police Officers 3 (PO3) Felipe Moncatar and Eduardo Berio; and PO2s Nelgin Bermejo and Vicente Pabuaya the Medalya ng Kagalingan award.

Binag said the police were awarded for successfully neutralizing one of the city’s most wanted, Jibbert Villanueva.

Villanueva was tagged as PS4’s most wanted, along with being PS2’s third most wanted.

The robber was killed by PS4 officers after he resisted arrest.

Aside from Binag, former BCPO officer-in-charge, Police Superintendent Roderick Minong; BCPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo; and NOPPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., were also present for the ceremony./DGB, WDJ
