Monitoring centers established ahead of upcoming elections

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recently announced the establishment of station election monitoring action centers, intended to ensure peaceful and secure elections, ahead of the upcoming May 14 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.

“We have established or identified security control points wherein our police stations will deploy personnel in order to ensure that the travel of voters and the transport of election paraphernalia will be safe and secure,” said BCPO officer-in-charge, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo.

According to the BCPO chief, 72 police officers will be deployed to the centers.

He also noted, Barangays Banago, Mansilingan, Bata, Pahanocoy, Villamonte, Estefania, and Alangilan were recently designated as “possible areas of interest” by the Commission on Elections.

During the election, BCPO will deploy 270 personnel to polling centers throughout the city, with six personnel assigned to each center./WDJ
