Provincial government provides nearly P900K in cash for medalists

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. yesterday led the distribution of a total of P882,000 at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center (NOMPAC) for Negros Occidental athletes and coaches who earned medals at the recent Palarong Pambansa.

The province earned a total of 26 gold, 25 silver, and 25 bronze medals; with gold medalists each receiving P6,000, silver medalists provided P4,000, and bronze medalists given P2,000.

According to the governor, the distribution of cash incentives is intended to underscore the province’s gratitude./WDJ
