A 10-year-old was killed after reportedly drowning in a swimming pool Tuesday afternoon at a resort located in Barangay Pilar, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatality as Shiela Mae Aliling, a resident of Barangay Calapi in the said municipality.
Investigations by Hinigaran police said, while Aliling’s family was looking after her, another resort guest saw the victim unconscious, submerged under pool bubbling.
The guest immediately shouted for help from the resort’s lifeguard, who immediately jumped into the water to retrieve Aliling.
The lifeguard administered CPR to the victim while she was being rushed to the town’s emergency clinic, however, the minor was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician./DGB, WDJ
