Mayor: The MassKara Festival really belongs to the world

 

During a recent site inspection conducted by International Mask Arts and Culture Organization (IMACO) officials and staff, alongside Bacolod City government officials, discussions of the 2019 IMACO International Conference host city had those gathered talking about the ‘City of Smiles’ on a global scale.

“The IMACO International Conference will promote Bacolod to the world,” said IMACO Secretary-General Yoon Byung-jin.

“The MassKara Festival now really belongs to the world,” added Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia. “We are now among the world’s most prominent mask festivals.”

The conference is scheduled to arrive in Bacolod City in November 2019, where City Councilor Em Ang projected 300 delegates are expected to participate.

IMACO, which has 68 member-countries, is a group of international festivals with a focus on masks./WDJ
