Ceres-Negros FC hopes to continue dominating the ongoing 2018 Philippines Football League (PFL) when they meet Davao Aguilas FC today at 4:00 p.m. at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
Both clubs are coming off wins over JPV Marikina FC, with the Davao del Norte-based squad winning, 3-2; while the Negrense side won, 4-1.
Ceres FC and Davao Aguilas are both undefeated; however, the Bacolod City-based club currently holds a 4-0 record, while Davao has won three matches and drawn twice. A win by the defending PFL champions would fortify their lead in the league.
Meanwhile, the Negrense club faces Yangon United FC of Myanmar next week, May 9, in the first leg of their 2018 AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal semifinal.
Ceres FC are the defending AFC Cup ASEAN Zone champions.
For Kaya FC Iloilo, the PFL recently informed the club their first home game at the Iloilo Sports Complex, scheduled for today, would not proceed as their opponents, Global Cebu FC, would not be making it to the match.
The PFL and Global FC have yet to release an official statement regarding the issue./JSG, WDJ
