Almost 10% of OFWs are from the Western Visayas –PSA

According to a recent report by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), there are a total 2.3 million overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), based on a 2017 survey, with workers from the Western Visayas comprising 9.5 percent, the third-highest number in the country.

Calabarzon contributed the highest number of workers with 20.7 percent, followed by Central Luzon with 12.9 percent.

Meanwhile, the National Capital Region contributed around the same number of workers as the Western Visayas.

The survey also found Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong among the most popular destinations for OFWs./WDJ
