Approximately 200 Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) police officers will be deployed for the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival, set to take place on May 5.
In a radio interview over the weekend, Festival chair, Bacolod City Councilor Cindy Rojas, said aside from security, the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will also reroute traffic, with 100 traffic enforcers to be assigned at the event site along Araneta Street.
She said the rerouting scheme would be posted on social media today in order to guide commuters and motorists.
Rojas said the event looks to promote food tourism by inviting guests to taste the chicken inasal of Bacolod City.
The highlight of the festival will be the 300 meter-long chicken barbecue grill, which will stretch from the Golden Diamond Jubilee Tower to San Sebastian Street.
Around 25 inasal establishments have confirmed their participation for the event./DGB, WDJ
