The Aklan Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is currently conducting geotagging, where geographical information of certain structures are provided for digitized maps, across the province.
The agency hopes to have 84,000 buildings geotagged by August 30, 2018.
Provincial Statistics Officer Antonet Catubuan said the process will allow the provincial PSA to provide accurate and up-to-date digitized maps, along with serving as a guide for post-census evaluation.
Among the data gathered includes building name, type and form of structure, the number of floors, the type of roof, the name of the household for residential establishments, and indications if there is a presence of informal settlers.
Pictures of the structures will also be taken by map data collectors./WDJ
