As part of their Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Project (CRFP), the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned over three 90-horsepower McCormick tractors and solar pump irrigation facilities, worth P13,500,000, to three Negros Occidental agrarian reform cooperatives.

Representatives of the recipient organizations, the Sta. Rita Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Bago City’s Barangay Dulao, TARA Agrarian Reform Cooperative of Isabela, and Bajay Patol Agrarian Reform Cooperative of Cauayan, signed a memorandum of trust agreement with DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Luc Taberna.

Beneficiaries also underwent agri-extension services and business development trainings, conducted by DAR.

The goal of the project seeks to enhance and sustain agricultural productivity as a primary means of livelihood in agrarian communities, while adapting to the impacts of climate change./WDJ
