Drunk motorcyclist crashes in Cadiz City

A drunk motorcycle operator was severely injured following a crash early Sunday morning along the national highway in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victim as Gabriel Genes, a resident of Purok Paghidaet in Barangay Lag-asan of the said city.

Cadiz City Police Station traffic investigators said Genes was driving south when he lost control of his motorcycle along a curved portion of the highway and crashed into a bridge barrier.

Genes was rushed to the Cadiz City District Hospital, but was later transferred to the Teresita Locsin Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City after doctors determined he had severe head injuries.

Police also found Genes to be under the influence of alcohol when they rushed him to the hospital.

Genes’ damaged motorcycle, meanwhile, was impounded by the Cadiz City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
