One dead, one injured in Bago City electrocution

One person is confirmed dead, while another was severely injured, after they were electrocuted Saturday morning at Purok Palaron in Barangay Alianza, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as 57-year-old Roberto Flores, while the injured was 40-year-old Richard Cordon, both residents of the said area.

Based on eyewitness accounts, Flores and Cordon were repairing an artesian wheel and pulling a 20-foot steel pipe when they accidentally came into contact with a Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Ceneco) wire, resulting in the electrocution.

Flores was declared dead on arrival at the Bago City District Hospital, while Cordon was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment./DGB, WDJ
