Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor said the probe into the murder of his older brother, former Provincial Board Member Renato Malabor, is nearing a solution.

Over the weekend, the mayor revealed they have already identified the mastermind behind the crime.

“After all these years, we will finally attain justice,” Malabor said.

The late public official was shot and killed while leaving an Isabela cockpit in June 2015.

“We already know who [is] the mastermind, it’s just a matter of time and we will name him publicly,” the mayor said.

He added, they are presently securing witnesses amid threats to their safety.

Malabor claimed he received threats to his life, noting he was nearly ambushed a few weeks ago while on his way to Bacolod City for a meeting.

The mayor said he has since canceled his appointment due to the threat./DGB, WDJ
