Western Visayas drops to third place

 

After placing second the past two days, Western Visayas dropped to third place in the overall medal tally of the 61st Palarong Pambansa.

Following a slow gold medal haul in the last day of Palaro yesterday, Western Visayas had 38 golds, 36 silver and 46 bronze medals, behind defending champions National Capital Region (80-59-44) and Region 4-A (52-40-59).

Meanwhile, Western Visayas had break another record with the group of Vince Jayson Buhayan, John Christian Mediano, Kennard Alarba, and Jeffrey Albania. They tallied a new Palaro record in secondary boys 4×100 meter relay of 42.44 seconds, breaking the 42.48 seconds of Region 4-A last year.

Buhayan and Alarba along with Aaron Vincent Merin and Edgar Carado also won a silver in 4×400 meter relay./WDJ
