Two short films focused on the lives of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Canada are scheduled to be screened today, April 20, at MassKara Hall I of the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The films “Forced to Let Go” and “Olivia” offer a glimpse into the lives of caregivers working in Canada and, according to a letter from organizers of the event, these were the first Filipino films screened in Canada.
The presentation seeks to raise awareness of the struggles OFWs face when away from their families.
The screening is expected to run for two hours and 30 minutes./WDJ
