A total of 1,443 children took part in the Iloilo City Sport Divisions’ Pag-ulikid sang Syudad sa Kabataan program, a free summer sports program that concluded last weekend, with sites at all district public plazas and SM City Iloilo.

“We were able to gather more than a thousand kids in this activity,” said Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III. “It only shows they really love sports.”

“I hope they have learned a lot about sportsmanship, self-confidence, and teamwork,” he added.

The event included lessons in arnis, wushu, taekwondo, volleyball, basketball, football, lawn tennis, jiu-jitsu, chess, table tennis, and karatedo./WDJ
