A 66-year-old man was found dead Monday afternoon in an apparent suicide incident in Barangay Tiniongan, Isabela, Negros Occidental.
Police refused to identify the fatality, but confirmed he is a resident of Sitio Haplas in the said barangay.
Isabela town police said the senior’s remains were found by his son with a wound on his neck and left wrist.
The victim’s son immediately contacted police.
Investigators recovered a scythe and a sharpening stone, believed to be used by the victim to kill himself.
When they interviewed the victim’s son, he revealed his father has been suffering from a nervous breakdown for the past 23 years and repeatedly stated he wanted “rest.”
Following the son’s statement, Isabela police immediately ruled there was no foul play in the incident./DGB, WDJ
