A group of volunteers from Talisay City, Silay City, the Bantay Bukid Brigade of Talisay and Silay, the Negros Mountaineering Club, Inc. (NMCI), and the Butlak Banaag Mountaineering Society, Inc. (BBMSI) recently gathered over 100 kilograms of garbage during the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Northern Negros Natural Park (DENR-NNNP) Clean-up Drive Activity at Tinagong Dagat, a popular ecotourism destination at the park.

After witnessing improper waste disposal, along with the presence of illegal climbers, the Negros Occidental DENR- Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) and the NNNP Park Superintendent’s Office spearheaded the activity.

The gathered waste consisted mostly of plastic items, cans, and empty bottled containers./WDJ
