The Iloilo City government recently awarded certificates of recognition and cash incentives for four taxi drivers who returned items left behind in their vehicles by passengers.

Wilfredo Tabangcura, Joven Emas, Gerald Inventor, and Larry Cabigas were each awarded P2,000 by Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III.

“May these drivers inspire others to be honest,” the mayor said. “We are really glad that we have honest drivers in our city.”

Among the items returned included sunglasses, mobile phones, an iPod, and stand fans.

The recovered items were gathered by Bombo Radyo-Iloilo.

“I want to inspire other taxi drivers to be honest and not to be blinded [by] things which do not belong to us,” Tabangcura said./WDJ
