A minor is currently being treated at a hospital in Bacolod City after reportedly being struck by lightning in Valladolid, Negros Occidental, late Monday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as 12-year-old Trisha Mae Eguana, a resident of Barangay Sagwa in the said town.

Based on a statement by her mother, Eguana was throwing garbage outside their home when she was struck by lightning.

Eguana was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) after sustaining severe burn injuries./DGB, WDJ
