The Philippine Information Agency recently released a reminder to the public that April is Vacation Hazard Prevention Month.
“Put safety first all the time, especially now that it’s vacation time,” the government agency posted on social media.
The observance is based on Presidential Proclamation 115-A, signed by then-President Ferdinand Marcos, declaring safety and prevention year, where every month is devoted to a certain aspect of safety.
“Now, more than ever, as a part of our national development, an impelling and constant need for propagating safety consciousness among our people every day of the year as a positive preventive approach to a problem,” the proclamation noted.
Among other notable observances is Fire Prevention Month, which is recognized throughout March,/WDJ
