City government to provide assistance for needy seniors

Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III recently revealed plans to provide assistance for low-income senior citizens, who have no family, at the Asilo de Molo, located along Avaceña Street.

“There are some senior citizens who have no relatives and no money,” the mayor explained. “I want indigent senior citizens to benefit.”

The facility will provide housing and care for those qualified.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office will by conducting medical assessments and family background checks before offering a referral to Asilo de Molo

The project is part of the city government’s “Pag-ulikid sang Syudad” program, which aims to provide support for constituent concerns on healthcare, poverty, among issues./WDJ
