Tournament opens tomorrow

The 2018 Negros Basketball Association President’s Cup opens on Sunday, April 8, at 3:00 p.m. at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym, where Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Regional Director Robert Uy will take part in the opening ceremonies.

A total of nine teams will compete, including Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias, Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu/The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, STI-West Negros University/ESJ Fyre Fyter, the University of St. La Salle-Freeze Sportswear, La Consolacion College-Bacolod/Davies Paint-J Squared Construction, Melfern, Supreme ABF-Silver Graces Construction, Dawn Rent-A-Car, and Bike Game.

According to Tournament Commissioner Bobby Tee, the competition will include a single-round-robin elimination round. The top two teams will each advance to the semifinals with a twice-to-beat advantage, while ranks three through six compete in a knockout quarterfinal.
