Smart Communications, Inc. and InnoPub Media recently released the Antique Guide application, which provides supplemental tourism information for visitors to the province.
“We hope more people will discover what our place has to offer,” said Antique Governor Rhodora Cadiao.
The province reports around P3 billion in revenue from a reported 162,925 foreign and domestic tourists last year.
Smart Communications Public Affairs chief Ramon Isberto said QR code markers have been installed at select sites to provide detailed information on the specific locale. Among the highlighted sites include Evelio B. Javier Freedom Park in San Jose de Buenavista, which was named for a former governor who was assassinated.
QR codes have also been placed in Anini-y, which is home to a Spanish-era church and Nogas Island.
The companies previously launched a digital tourism campaign for the city and province of Iloilo./WDJ
