Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia welcomed delegates to the First Regional Training-Workshop on Measuring and Mitigating Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs) from the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Sector workshop at the O Hotel last Monday.
“I have seen over the years that climate change is something we had to face,” he said. “This is a very serious matter, which would mean a future for all of us,”
According to Environmental Management Bureau-Solid Waste Management division senior environmental management specialist Maria Delia Cristina Valdez, a total of 35 participants, including delegates from Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Japan, will be present for the workshop.
The workshop discussed how to reduce SLCPs from MSW with a focus on policy, technology, and financial aspects.
