The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution earlier this week calling for Mayor Evelio Leonardia to have the City Engineer’s Office regularly check streetlights located near the Panaad Park and Stadium exit to ensure they are turned off during the day.

According to the legislation, penned by City Councilor Em Ang, four streetlights are reportedly in operation 24 hours a day and, by having them switched off during the day, it would be more cost-effective for the city.

“Making sure the street lights are switched on only during nighttime to give light to passers-by will not only save energy, but also save taxpayer money,” the resolution read./WDJ
