A retired police officer and his family have gone missing after the officer reportedly shot and killed a father and son in Iloilo City on Easter Sunday.

Following the incident, retired Senior Police Officer 1 Ariel Acopicop, along with his wife and children, could not be found at their residence, located in Barangay Bolilao, in the city’s Mandurriao district.

Acopicop allegedly barged into the Ariate family home Sunday afternoon, where it is said he shot 56-year-old Joseph, as well as his 21-year-old son Joreen, who later died after succumbing to gunshot wounds to the chest.

Based on initial investigations, the retired cop had earlier engaged in an argument with the elder Ariate.

Mandurriao Police Station chief, Police Chief Inspector Juvy Navales, reiterated the call for Acopicop to peacefully surrender./WDJ
