“…Therefore, the Lord will take no pleasure in the young men, nor will he pity the fatherless and widows, for everyone is ungodly and wicked, every mouth speaks folly…” –Isaiah 9:17
To those inquiring if there is proof Jesus is God and Savior – God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who came down to earth, in the form of flesh and blood, and accepted penalties for sins committed by man – the answer is in the Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ Church, or the Simbahang Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo (AND KNK); and, yes, there is also proof in the Bible.
The AND KNK refers to such proof as “accurate pieces of evidence that Jesus is God and Savior, and that He is God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” What are they exactly? It is evidence provided by the disciples, along with those who did not accept Him but now have faith.
In understanding it all, we must start with studying seven Bible verses, which create the foundation behind proclaiming Jesus as God and Savior, and God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These are Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-37, John 1:1-14, and John 20:22.
Jesus is God who came down to earth from heaven
From Genesis 3:15, we learned of the curse God placed on the serpent after successfully enticing Eve and Adam to sin, by egregiously disobeying the command of God against eating the fruit of the tree from the center of the garden. With this curse, God declared, He will cause enmity between the offspring of the serpent and the offspring of the woman.
It is clear from this declaration, there would be a fight between the offspring. However, who is the offspring of the serpent? It is the evil one, no less, and his legion of evil spirits and sinfulness that will control (and are, to this day, in control) the minds of many people.
The offspring of the woman, on the other hand, refers to Jesus.
Who is Jesus? He was the son who would be conceived and birthed by the woman, according to Isaiah 7:14, “God, Himself, will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a baby boy, who will be called Emmanuel…”
Jesus: Mighty God, everlasting Father
If we study well enough, what Isaiah 7:14 said is we will inevitably come to the conclusion that the baby boy the virgin will conceive and give birth to would most certainly be human – if the woman is human, then the baby boy would be a human being, too. However, Isaiah’s prophecy does not end there.
In Isaiah 9:6, he identified, quite firmly, who or what baby boy really would be.
“Because to us a child is born, a son is given… and he would be called… Mighty God, Everlasting Father…,” the passage notes. Anyone who reads this part would not be able to deny the baby boy is not human but is, in fact, the “Mighty God, everlasting Father.”
It would be very clear, therefore, from these verses, that God the Father, Himself, was the one referred to in Genesis 3:15, and Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6, as coming down to earth from heaven, in the form of man with flesh and blood. The only question from these verses would be: Was this prophecy about God, Himself, coming to earth, in the form of man with flesh and blood, fulfilled? I implore you to read the answer in the next column.
