At least three people, including a barangay kagawad, were killed, while six others were wounded, following a Good Friday shooting at Sitio Tabalogo in Barangay Budlasan, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, Good Friday.
Police identified the fatalities as Barangay Kagawad Elmer Patiña, Glenn Galvan, and Victor Bravo; while the wounded were Jeric Patiña, Mark Glenn Galvan, Alex Taburada, Edmund Galvan, Nemenio Bucog, and a certain ‘Peligrino.’
Canlaon City police chief, Police Chief Inspector Wilfredo Alarcon, said the shooting took place during a backyard cockfight around 3:00 p.m., where personal grudges between the Patiña and Galvan families reached their peak.
Alarcon said it is unclear who among the families shot first, but they recovered one .45 caliber slug and three empty shells from the crime scene.
The six wounded are presently being treated at a hospital in Bacolod City, while Canlaon City police are still investigating the incident./DGB, WDJ
