A Cadiz City resident, who was visiting his friend at the Regent Pearl Homes Subdivision, located in Bacolod City’s Barangay Alijis, was shot dead following a late Wednesday evening scuffle.
Police identified the fatality as Aldren Arabaca, a resident of Barangay Banquerohan, Cadiz City.
Based on a statement provided by the victim’s friend, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, he said upon arrival, Arabaca decided to have dinner and a couple of drinks at the eatery where he works before heading back to Cadiz City the next morning.
While drinking, Arabaca and his friend were involved in a heated argument with the suspect, whom police have yet to identify, leading to a fist fight.
The fight was initially broken up by one of the residents, where both Arabaca and his friend returned to drinking inside the establishment.
However, once Arabaca left the establishment, the suspect, who was waiting outside, shot him using an unidentified caliber of firearm.
Arabaca was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for treatment, but later died from a gunshot wound to his head.
Investigators from Police Station 7, meanwhile, are presently probing the incident and are presently checking one of the close-circuit television cameras, which was clearly visible nearby and may have captured the fatal moment./DGB, WDJ
