BCPO-TMU monitoring, apprehending colorum vehicles
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, said the Traffic Management Unit (TMU) is presently monitoring and apprehending colorum vehicles, amid the ongoing exodus for the Holy Week observance.
According to Ebreo, despite being short-staffed, TMU achieved their highest accomplishment when it comes to apprehending colorum vehicles.
Ebreo illustrated the agency’s effectiveness, citing the head of the unit is Police Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, who heads the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO),
He noted the number of BTAO personnel compensates for their current lack of personnel since their traffic enforcers are also allowed to apprehend colorum vehicles.
Despite not quoting the exact number of apprehended vehicles to date, Ebreo said TMU monitoring is continuous, especially since President Rodrigo Duterte earlier ordered traffic law enforcement groups to arrest colorum vehicles, following the recent deadly bus accident that killed 19 in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro./DGB, WDJ
