Malacañang orders half day for government offices today
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Malacañang Palace issued a memorandum circular yesterday declaring a half day for all government offices.
In a social media post by Negros Occidental sixth district Rep. Mercedes Alvarez, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed Memorandum Circular No. 43, suspending government work by 12:00 noon today, March 28.
According to the post, the circular was issued in order for government employees to prepare for Holy Thursday and Good Friday observances.
The circular, however, does not cover those working in law enforcement, emergency services, and those assigned in dispensing vital services to the public.
Meanwhile, the suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective administrators./DGB, WDJ
