Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, yesterday affirmed there are no kidnapping syndicates operating in Bacolod City.

The announcement comes following a spate of social media posts by Bacolod City netizens claiming false kidnapping incidents in barangays Tangub and Singcang-Airport.

During a press conference at BCPO headquarters, Ebreo said individuals posting such reports, along with those sharing the information, are “irresponsible.”

“If there is such an incident, the witness should immediately contact law enforcement agencies,” Ebreo said.

He also pointed out, during the reported incident in Barangay Singcang-Airport, there was two police officers assigned outside the establishment where the supposed incident took place.

“Aside [from] the two cops, the deputy of the Traffic Management Unit (TMU) was also present in the area, conducting a routine operation,” he said.

Ebreo reiterated, a complainant’s proper action is to approach police./DGB, WDJ
