Over 600 to compete under Western Visayas banner

Western Visayas, Region 6, is expected to send 662 athletes to the 2018 Palarong Pambansa, set to take place in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur next month, from April 15 to 21.

With Negros Occidental returning to Western Visayas, following the dissolution of the Negros Island Region, the province will be sending the second-highest number of athletes for Region 6 with 186.

Iloilo will be sending the most with 229.

Palarong Pambansa athletes will be competing in several events, including athletics, archery, arnis, badminton, basketball, billiards, boxing, chess, dancesport and aero gymnastics, football, futsal, gymnastics, pencak silat, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, and wushu./JSG, WDJ
