Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson recently told barangay officials in the province their “day of judgment” will come soon, affirming the upcoming May 14 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections will push through.
Lacson said the Senate has made it clear there will be no postponement and those planning to run should start laying down their platforms and planning their campaigns.
He also stated, good incumbent officials would certainly have an advantage since they have already proven themselves to constituents.
However, he stated the same cannot be said for those who did not perform well, as they will give challengers a chance.
“I personally feel that elections should happen,” Lacson said. “This is the only way the constituents will judge them.”/DGB, WDJ
