BCPO urges public to exercise vigilance

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, urged the public to exercise vigilance as the Holy Week exodus begins.
According to Ebreo, with so many people expected to return home for the almost four-day break, criminal elements will surely take advantage of the situation.
Ebreo also said they are expecting heavy traffic, especially near terminals and churches, during the period but a contingency plan has already been arranged to address the problem.
Aside from the BCPO, Bacolod City Fire Marshall, Fire Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña, said the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will also set up its own assistance desks at terminals and churches to provide medical support to any traveler or church-goer who falls ill or suffers an injury.
The BFP also advised those leaving town to make sure all appliances are unplugged and all gas lines are shut off to prevent fires./DGB, WDJ
