The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) recently conducted inspections of all Bacolod City resorts in preparation for the Holy Week observance, which began yesterday, Sunday.
CDRRMO head Dondon Parandas said, based on their latest inspections, most beach resorts in the city have lifeguards on duty.
Parandas also said they have also taken advantage of the inspections to inform resort operators of safety measures, especially as they are expecting the public to flock to the various resorts in the city on Easter Sunday.
As part of their augmentation, the CDRRMO, along with several other volunteer rescue groups, will be assigned to the resorts; while barangay officials were reminded to guard rivers in their area to avoid any untoward incidents.
Parandas added, he is hoping there will be zero drowning incidents during the Easter Sunday celebrations./DGB, WDJ
