PRO-6 security preparations complete

Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) personnel have completed all security preparations associated with the upcoming Holy Week observance, which begins on Sunday, March 24.

PRO-6 spokesperson, Police Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, said, as part of their “heightened alert” status, all police in the region have changed uniforms to the camouflaged field service uniform.

With regard to “Oplan: SumVac,” Gorero said other agencies of the government have also been placed on alert, including the Philippine Coast Guard, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and the Philippine Red Cross.

All police stations in the region have also been instructed to set up police assistance desks at local churches and tourist assistance desks, which will provide information and assistance for vacationers./DGB, WDJ
