Candidates running unopposed
The Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Ceneco) will be holding district elections today, March 24, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at various precincts.
The contested areas include District II, which includes barangays Taculing, Felisa, Handumanan, Cabug, Pahanocoy, Sum-ag, Punta Taytay, Tangub, and Alijis; District III, which covers barangays 17 through 20, 22 through 33, and 40 and 41; and District VII, comprised of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto.
Ceneco also named the qualified candidates for director, who are all running unopposed.
Engr. Beda Tumbos is running in District II, Jojit Yap in District III, and Dwight Carbon – District VII.
Polling precincts will be open at Bacolod City National High School, I. Nessia Elementary School, Handumanan Elementary School I, M. Medalla Elementary School, Sum-ag Elementary School, F.R. Flores Elementary School, R. Medel, Sr. Elementary School, E. Garcia Elementary School, A. Mabini Elementary School, Murcia Elementary School, and the Salvador Benedicto Municipal Hall.
Last November, elections in District V, which includes barangays 8 through 16, 21, 34 to 39, and Singcang-Airport, after earlier producing no qualified candidates for director, were declared a failure by the District Election Committee after no qualified candidates were again presented during the rescheduled polls./WDJ
