The family of this year’s top graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), Kabankalan City-native, Police Cadet John Vallador, expressed excitement during yesterday’s graduation rites in Silang, Cavite; however, they also showed reservation over his duties as a police officer.
In a radio interview yesterday, Vallador’s aunt, Nelia Deocares, said, while she is excited, she is also afraid for her nephew as, per mandate by Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald dela Rosa, Vallador is required to train as a Special Action Force (SAF) commando.
Deocares pointed out what happened to SAF commandos in 2015, where 44 were killed by Islamic extremists in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
The cadet’s aunt also pointed out, while she is unaware of his current schedule, she affirmed he would return home to Kabankalan City on Sunday, March 25.
Aside from receiving the plaque of merit and the Presidential Kampilan Award from President Rodrigo Duterte, the president also gifted Vallador with a house and lot from Camella Bacolod./DGB, WDJ
