Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. recently endorsed the national ID system bill, which was recently approved on its final reading by the Senate,
According to Marañon, it would make things easier for the public since they would have their voter, social security, and PhilHealth numbers in one identification card.
The governor said those opposing the bill are ones involved in criminal mischief and against the government.
Senate Bill No. 1738, or the Philippine Identification System Act of 2018, was approved by a 17-2 vote last Monday.
The national ID system bill primary aims to make it easier for the public to transact with the government, as well as deter criminality./DGB, WDJ
