Ahead of the upcoming New People’s Army (NPA) founding anniversary, set to take place next week, March 29, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., renewed his call for members of the rebel group to surrender.

“You only live once, do it right,” he said. “Nothing compares to a normal life.”

The NOPPO chief said there is “no future” for the rebel group’s members, stating, while they are bleeding and sacrificing themselves on the field, their leaders are enjoying a luxurious life in the Netherlands.

“Do it for your children and your grandchildren,” Castil urged.

The provincial police director said they will not let down on their intensified operations against the rebel group and their supporters.

However, Castil also pointed out police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines will provide support, under the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP), for rebels who wish to surrender.

He added, those planning to surrender should visit their nearest police station, army camp, or to their local Municipal Peace and Order Council and they will facilitate their CLIP enrollment./DGB, WDJ
