Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, who was in Bacolod City over the weekend, said the realization of Bacolod Museum would be his “flagship project” for 2019.

The project is estimated to cost P150 million and will stand four stories.

“I want to give a flagship project for my home city and province,” he affirmed.

Zubiri envisioned the first and second floors of the museum to house traditional MassKara garments and memorabilia, while the top floor would be used as an amphitheater to host cultural events.

The senator said he contacted modern architects to create a design for the project and will present it to the city mayor.

Initially, the city government conducted a study on the possible location of the Bacolod Museum. City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, however, said they are still open to land donations of private owners.

“This is a dream come true,” he said. “This is something beyond what we expected.”/NC, WDJ
