Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III recently announced the city government is considering a reclamation project, covering 1,800 hectares of land between Barangays Zone 15 and Bubog, in an effort to change the local economic landscape and provide opportunities for residents and business investment.

He noted, the development plan was presented during last week’s Third District Strategic Planning Session in Tagaytay City, which was attended by mayors from across the congressional district, along with Negros Occidental third district Rep. Alfredo Benitez.

“There will also be a four-island development with a bridge component, just like in Macau,” the mayor explained.

Lizares said the project could be conducted as a public private partnership (PPP).

“Since the reclamation project involves city-owned property, the local government will have a share in revenue,” he added./DGB, WDJ
