Two riding-in-tandem suspects made off with P200,000 cash after they robbed a panel truck around noon on Wednesday at Sitio Galo in Barangay 5, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the driver of truck as Jason Alvarez, a resident of Silay City, Negros Occidental.

In a statement provided by Alvarez, while his co-worker was transacting with a customer, two armed men aboard a motorcycle stopped alongside his parked truck and declared a hold-up.

The suspects forced the victims to yield their P200,000 in collection money.

They also demanded Alvarez’ co-worker to give up his mobile phone; however, the victim pleaded to spare the phone as he needs it for his job.

The assailants, instead, requested the keys to truck’s panel and ordered the victims to wait inside as they made their getaway.

The suspects boarded their motorcycle and left towards the town’s Barangay Bulad, which has an exit point connecting to Hinigaran.

Isabela police tried to conduct a pursuit operation, but the suspects eluded arrest./DGB, WDJ
