A Sagay City traffic enforcer slightly wounded after he was recently mauled and nearly stabbed in the city’s Barangay Poblacion 2.
The traffic enforcer was identified as 23-year-old Paul Cuenco, a resident of Barangay Bulanon in the said city.
Reports by Sagay City police said Cuenco was on duty in the said area when he spotted the suspects, identified as Leonardia dela Peña, Arnel Jimenez, Romnick Bandula, and Geron Gamanza, allegedly destroying several road signs.
Cuenco confronted the suspects but, instead of stopping, the suspects reportedly began assaulting the traffic enforcer.
One of the suspects also purportedly pulled out a bladed weapon and attempted to stab Cuenco.
However, the suspect missed and police soon arrived to arrest the suspects.
The four face multiple criminal charges over the incident and are presently detained at the Sagay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
