Moises Padilla Mayor Magdaleno Peña recently criticized Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., claiming he failed in his political choices and in the ongoing campaigns against illegal drugs and insurgency in the province.
He explained, the governor did not support President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016, but is now a member of his party.
The mayor rated the governor between “three and four” in terms of managing the province.
Peña, however, credited the governor with a high score in health, citing beneficiaries of the provincial government’s Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Insurance Program (NOCHIP).
The mayor also criticized Bacolod City officials, claiming they failed to address the issue of illegal drugs in the city.
He claimed, the city government is not doing enough.
Meanwhile, with regard to politics, Peña said that his choices are still open for 2019, adding, it will depend on where the people of Negros want him to serve and what Duterte tells him to do./DGB, WDJ
