A memorandum of understanding was signed yesterday at the Barangay Villamonte gym between Bacolod City Councilor Ricardo Tan and Taiwanese schools, the Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science and Far East University, which will provide opportunities for local scholars to study in Taiwan.

According to the city councilor, qualified students will have a chance to study abroad, which he said will help develop a sense of independence.

He noted, coursework will include information technology, engineering, among others.

Signing on behalf of Chia Nan University was associate professor, Dr. Ra Fu Chen, while signing for Far East University was International Exchange and Education Center Director Chun Chun Lin.

Following the signing, an orientation on Taiwan was conducted for potential students./WDJ
