The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) recently passed a resolution calling on the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the City Engineer’s Office to place reflectorized hazard markings along the Araneta Street median.

The legislation, authored by Bacolod City Councilor Claudio Jesus ‘Kalaw’ Puentevella, cited DPWH Department Order No. 73 Series of 2016, which mandates the government agency to provide a standard for object markings, markings on curbs and islands, and approach markings on islands and obstructions.

He added, reflectorized hazard markings are important in promoting road safety and to create a smooth and harmonious flow of traffic./WDJ
